King Stranton has three sons, all of whom have spent at least some time in Arnast's military.

Terrance[]

The youngest of the king's three sons.  Spent his miliatary term in Arnast's Royal Navy.

Tired of the endless politics and feeling that unrelenting war cannot be the only solution to the troubles in the north, the prince largely abstains from court politics. The recent announcement of his father's marriage to the queen-to-be to be has only served to widen the rift between him and his father, as he feels that it is simply a marriage of convenience, arranged to bring in more men and materiel for the war (which, in fact, it is). Fed up with being the last priority around the castle and tired of enduring his father's constant pressure to be something that he is not, he has decided to go back to the place he was the happiest: the sea. He cannot go back to the Royal Navy, since they'd send him straight back home on his father's orders, so he's made for the port city of Threfall, to meet up with an old friend from his days as a third mate. He arrived in Threfall two days before his friend, and, heedless of his warning not to take up with anyone he found around the docks, spent his time in the tavern where they were to meet, and made no secret of his plans. On the second day, he was approached by three men claiming to be representatives of a wealthy merchant's fleet, looking for men with experience to serve on a trading galleon bound for the Irinatas. As those waters are known to be both dangerous and profitable, the prince signed up at once, following the three down to the water's edge, where they boarded not a ship's launch, but a small dinghy. Once offshore, the three quickly became less friendly, and revealed themselves to be quite aware of his royal origins. Forced at gunpoint to cooperate, the Prince was taken to Skelky island. Once arrived, he was placed in a cage and hoisted aboard a galleon flying a black flag, which sailed out the bay under cover of night, bound for the Irinatas.

His friend knows that he was coming down to Threfall to join up with a crew and see the world. Not the military as they'd send him straight back home, but when he arrived in port, the Prince was gone, though he had seemingly been there as recently as the previous day.
